Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy explains what data the YUMYUMMYTR app ("the app") uses, why, and what choices you have. The app is made by Institute of Innovation LLC ("we", "us"). Questions: [email protected].
The short version
- No sign-up and no email. The app gives your phone an anonymous account ID. A name you type in Profile stays on your phone.
- Your meals, history, streak, settings and profile photo are kept on your phone.
- Meal photos are sent to our server only to be recognised, and are not stored.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- You can delete your account and all server data from inside the app at any time.
What stays on your phone
Your meal log, daily points, streak, goal and limit, app settings, Plan my day preferences and the profile photo you pick are stored only on your device. We can't see them. They are removed when you delete the app (on iPhone, your anonymous account ID may stay in the iPhone keychain so a reinstall keeps your subscription).
What we process on our server
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous account ID | To recognise your app, apply free limits and connect your subscription | Until you delete your account |
| Meal photos | To find the foods on the plate and give them points | Not stored. Processed and discarded |
| Barcodes and food searches | To look up the product or food and its points | Not linked to you, except as a usage record (below) |
| Photo of a package label (only for an unknown barcode) | To read the product name and carbs, so the barcode works for everyone next time | The photo is not stored. The product name and nutrition values are kept, without any link to you |
| Usage records (time and type of a scan, search or plan; success or error) | To count free tries, prevent abuse and keep the service working | 90 days |
| Plan my day requests (your limit, foods you don't eat, favourite cuisines, recent dishes) and the plans made | To create your day's menu and avoid repeats | Plans: 3 days. Repeat check: 30 days |
| Subscription status | To unlock Pro features | Refreshed regularly, removed after 30 days of no use |
Who helps us run the app
We use a small number of service providers who process data only for us:
- Supabase (database and server functions) hosts the anonymous account and the server data above.
- Google Gemini API (paid service) recognises meal photos and builds Plan my day menus. Under Google's paid API terms, this content is not used to train Google's models.
- RevenueCat manages subscriptions with your anonymous account ID and purchase receipts from the store.
- Apple App Store and Google Play handle payments. We never see your card details.
- Open Food Facts is a public food database. We send it a barcode number only, never anything about you.
Camera, photos and notifications
The camera is used only while you scan a plate or barcode. The photo library is opened only when you pick a meal photo to scan or a profile photo. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone; you can turn them off in the app or in your phone settings.
Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: Profile → Delete account removes your account and all its server data right away, and clears the app on your phone.
- Access or questions: email us and we'll answer within 30 days. Because the app has no sign-in, the quickest way to remove your data is Delete account in the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
Legal basis (EU/UK)
We process data to provide the app you asked for (contract), and to keep it secure and working (legitimate interests). Data may be processed in the United States and other countries by our providers, with standard safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you are under 18, talk to a parent and your doctor before changing how you eat.
Health
YUMYUMMYTR helps you track food. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
